DC Area Wine

Those looking to learn about wine or expand their knowledge of wine have a great option in the Washington, DC area.

The Washington Wine Academy (WWA)

The Washington Wine Academy (WWA) was founded in 1999 and is a 501c3 Virginia non-profit, dedicated to the promotion and furtherance of wine education.  Jim Baker, the man behind the Washington Wine Academy, does a great job lining up interesting and fun events for wine enthusiasts – from the novice to the pro – to learn about wine. Jim has even opened up a wine shop in Crystal City with a broad selection of wines and regular wine tastings.

Check out Thurs Dec 20th: Holiday Wine Tasting and Visit to National Christmas Tree on the Mall.

Join Washington Wine Academy for a reception featuring wines for winter and light snacks before boarding a Reston Limousine limo bus to go downtown to visit the National Christmas Tree. Just as toes start to feel the cold (that’s about 30 minutes), the limo will opick you up and bring you to Crystal City, saving you the parking hassle to keep you in the holiday spirit. Learn More!
