Review by SFP Music Critic Frank Kim

This album from Land of Malls (LOM) is a solid effort with versatile sounds that combine folk, pop-rock, acoustic, and even some country The texture of the music is simple but yet dynamic.
Interesting and good use of violins and string arrangements with keyboard arrangements thrown in there. The range of songs reminded me of various pop rock acts from recent past like Traveling Wilburys- with the male leads vocals reminiscent of Roy Orbison meets Chris Isaac. The female lead vocals were melodic and sung nicely- reminiscent of the Cowboys Junkies and The Sundays frontwoman Harriet Wheeler. That's saying alot I think. Overall, nice melodies and interesting song selection and titles including Land Of Malls, Bridge of the Gods, Another Blind Dinner Date and Lesbian with the Bouffant Hair. I'd like to see them live to get a better feel for the band. On disc- it's a good effort.
