Senior Web Developer

Business:
I am a Senior Web Developer at ESI International. ESI
provides
project and contract management training to executives around the
world.
We are quickly developing and expanding our eTraining division, where
we
host our courses on the internet. I develop the web pages that provide
the
backbone for these courses. I focus primarily on the programming of
the ASP
pages and the SQL Server databases, not the visual design or content
aspects
of the pages. Before I joined ESI earlier this year, I managed my own
business freelancing in Web development and VB front ends. I still do
some
contracting on the side. It really helps to widen my skill set to work
on a
variety of different projects. I am a Brown Unversity graduate.
Personal:
I'm a big fan of anything that puts me in or near the water.
I
love swimming, rowing, tubing, bodysurfing, jetskiing, etc. I also
like
volleyball, skiing and biking. I love to travel. Experiencing
different
cultures and new sights is always a plus for me. I've been to Brazil,
Costa
Rica, Cuba, Zimbabwe and all over Western Europe and North America. At
home, I share an apartment south of Dupont Circle with a Tabby cat
named
Peanut. I love to dance, especially retro tunes from the 70s and 80s.
I'm
always up for trying new things. Last week, it was hang gliding. Next
week, it will be something different.
I'm a big believer in animal rights. One night when I was 9, my family
had
rabbit stew. Without thinking about it, I announced I wasn't going to
eat
Bugs Bunny. The next day I decided that I was going to become a
vegetarian
over strong objections of my parents. Nobody (least of all me) actually
believed that I would keep it up more than a week or two. However, I
have
thought about it and reaffirmed my commitment many times over the years
since then. By the way, there is a certain myth that you will not grow
properly if you are a vegetarian. At 6'8", I think that I'm pretty
strong
proof that isn't true.
